Senior Software Engineer

PAR is seeking a Full Stack Senior Software Engineer to join the SureCheck intelligent checklist management Engineering and Development team located in Markham, ON. The team is building the next generation food safety and checklist management platform leveraging the MEAN Stack (MongoDB, ExpressJS, AngularJS and Node.js. This team is charged with delivering a game-changing cloud based platform for the restaurant and retail industry. The Senior Software Engineer will be instrumental in defining how the solution evolves to deliver new features.

  • Contribute to the implementation of a multi-tenant cloud solution which involves an understanding of MVC and micro-service patterns present in frameworks such as Sails.js, Meteor.js, CakePHP, or CodeIgniter
  • Contribute to the development of Ionic2/Angular2 real-time enabled clients
  • Analyze the stability and performance impact of various in-place and proposed designs
  • Work with architect to refine high-level designs or proofs of concept
  • Implement: Convert design specifications into code and supporting tests
  • Adopt our conventions and best practices for exception handling and fault tolerant coding to increase resilience of distributed system
  • Participate in peer design and code reviews and provide feedback on areas that need improvement
  • Test: Develop and execute unit tests, including non-happy path scenarios
  • Work with the development and testing teams to ensure consistent, high quality delivery
  • Work as an individual as well as within a team structure to deliver complex systems
  • Work with other team members and contractors to help increase their knowledge and ability within the organization.



  • Enterprise Experience with experience with MEAN Stack
  • Experienced with distributed systems that leverage message bus (i.e RabbitMQ, Kue).
  • Experience with Atlassian Suite for project lifecycle management
  • Experience with Agile methods and SCRUM development life cycle
  • Familiarity with continuous integration principles and environments
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure or Heroku a plus
  • Experience in mobile device application development
  • High degree of confidentiality concerning Par and customer’s information
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule or be “on call” as needed
  • Overtime required: Yes, as necessary

  • Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.
