Digital Product Manager

As our Digital Product Manager, you will guide a team that is charged with extending our Hospitality Point of Sale solutions further into mobility and customer self service. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new innovative products for the company. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on our collective industry experience and guidance from our customers and end users. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive and creativity to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time discovering and engaging with our markets and the segments within these markets to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader markets.

You must be able to communicate regularly, including public presentation of strategy, plans, and vision with all areas of the company, our integration partners, and our customers. You will work with our product owners, business analysts, and engineering leads to define product release requirements. You will work with product marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.

A product manager's key role is strategic, not tactical. The other organizations will support our strategic efforts; you won't be supporting their tactical tasks.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the entire Digital product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities making use of the Pragmatic Marketing Framework
  • Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research in conjunction with Product Marketing and the Business Analysts; this will be supported by visits to customers, trade shows, customer events.
  • Mindful prioritization of engineering efforts to balances needs of existing customers with our desire to enter into new markets and market segments.
  • Developing and implementing the go-to-market and release plans, working with all ParTech teams to execute.
  • Collaborating with all Point of Sale Software and Hardware product managers within ParTech to build unified hospitality solutions.
  • Approval of all user story acceptance criteria and feature performance and appearance during the demo phase of delivery
  • Consideration and negotiation of partner relationships for our Digital product.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of mobile software product management experience.
  • 1+ years of experience working with IOS and Android Mobile applications.
  • Proficiency and passion for technology.
  • Lifestyle integration of continual learning
  • Ability to collaborate, listen to, and support others without effort, Product Management performs as a sub-team within the larger R&D team, we are one team.
  • Customer centric mindset, we build for our customers and future customers, not ourselves.
  • Ongoing participation in Product Management and Agile Software communities and community events
  • Previous experience with Pragmatic Marketing and certification is preferable.
  • Computer Science or Engineering degree/diploma and/or work experience is preferable.
  • This position requires occasional travel to customer and ParTech offices throughout North America.
