Field Service Technician

PAR is seeking a Field Engineer to conduct onsite service and maintenance for customer locations in the Seattle, WA area. The Field Engineer will provide best in class customer service by performing remedial and/or preventative maintenance, installations, upgrades, and retrofits.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

SERVICE

  • Respond to customer calls in accordance with an established Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair units at the customer site
  • Identify, analyze, and repair product failures
  • Provide on–call emergency service when needed
  • Provide general customer service on the phone and in person
  • Communicate effectively with customers by notifying the customer of billable status before affecting the repair, maintaining communication with the customer until the incident is satisfactorily addressed, and contacting the customer within one hour of receipt of the service call
  • Maintain a high customer service rating

TRAINING

  • Provide ongoing training to customers regarding POS operations and programming
  • Educate customers on preventative maintenance best practices

INVENTORY

  • Manage company inventory of parts required to maintain customer equipment, as well as a company vehicle
  • Maintain an appropriate parts inventory by tracking usage, and ordering additional parts as needed
  • Protect service inventory by adhering to ESD protection and on-site guidelines
  • Return defective parts for repair on a daily basis

ADMINISTRATION

  • Provide timely and accurate failure analysis data; close call before leaving site with model/serial and part information
  • Maintain records of service calls, training, and expenses
  • Prepare weekly reports for distribution to supervisors and manager

 

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree preferred
  • A minimum of one year of experience in the detection, isolation and resolution of problems with microprocessor based equipment strongly preferred
  • Ability to identify components based on color required
  • Working knowledge of inventory management procedures
  • Clean driver’s license required
  • Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends based on business needs required
