Sales Engineer

In this role, you will be the most technical resource supporting the PAR/Brink Sales Team with the acumen to be the liaison between the customer and the development team. The TES will work closely with the Channel Team, the Small-to-Medium Business Team (SMB), and the Major Account Team. In addition, you will work with both Channel partners and Technical Integration partners to ensure that Brink is being best positioned for successful deployment. In conjunction with assigned Sales Account Executives, you will be responsible for conducting in-person and remote product demonstrations, articulating the technical value of Brink and ensuring successful Proof of Concepts to beat the competition and safeguard our customers against threats.

  • Deliver compelling vision and user experience of the product to prospects
  • Provide strategic input regarding the competitive landscape
  • Use listening and problem-solving skills to determine technical requirements and equipment needed to provide an outstanding customer experience.
  • Own technical happiness in existing accounts
  • Effectively lead executive-level technical demonstrations and conversations with CIO and CTO audience’s at large enterprise organizations
  • Assess customer requirements/objectives and tailor Brink’s technical and business value proposition to those needs
  • Effectively position Brink against competitive offerings
  • Act as the Technical Account Manager throughout the evaluation process, including: Taking ownership of all technical aspects of the trial process to ensure a successful outcome; Assisting prospects with system configuration (policy configs, alert rules, etc.); Addressing technical challenges with creative solutions; Providing consultative insight on security monitoring best practices
  • Capture all requested features and feedback information to the Product Management, Engineering, and Development teams
  • You will be our customer’s technical liaison and ensure that our products are positioned correctly to solve their business challenges.
  • Map customer requirements to current and future offerings
  • Educate prospects on the business value of Cloudera’s offerings
  • Continuously learn and update skills in quickly evolving technologies
  • This position will be located in our San Diego office
  • Some travel required



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field 
  • Self-starter, motivator and innovator with excellent project management instincts and abilities, strong written and verbal communications
  • Experience in managing programs ideally in sales content, onboarding and enablement
  • High level of flexibility, creativity and dependability
  • Experience working with sales enablement tools
  • Strategic & creative thinker with the ability to read, write and speak with internal and external stakeholders in a highly professional manner
  • Accountable to commitments and execute on deadlines
  • Dynamic, able to switch gears easily
  • API knowledge and experience is required
  • Experience developing integrations for Open Source middleware technologies
  • Experience in Web services Development (SOAP & Restful) Web services Security, creation of WSDLs (Contracts), XSDs and various canonical Data Formats.
  • development experience with C#
  • Solid understanding of at least one programming language and capability to take that knowledge and build a simple web app that uses our AP
  • Resourcefulness that puts Angus MacGyver to shame
  • At least two (2) years of experience with API design and development
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture Integration
  • System to system integration
