The Paralegal/Administrative Assistant position encompasses the review, preparation, and management of legal documents, as well as the performance of various supportive and administrative duties to assist the VP, General Counsel and Associate General Counsel.

Review and preparation of routine legal documents including contracts, leases, terms and conditions, licenses, and non-disclosure agreements, etc.
Negotiation of routine agreements within provided guidelines
Composition and preparation of correspondence
Maintenance of departmental library, files and records
Preparation and filing of routine corporate documents
Maintenance of corporate record books
Assist in the preparation of non-routine legal and corporation documents
Assist in the preparation of NYSE and SEC corporate filings
Obtain and maintain appropriate certificates of insurance on behalf of corporation and its customers
Monitor intellectual property filings and maintain IP certificates and registrations
Assist in the preparation of litigation matters, including record gathering and fact finding
Perform legal research as required
Perform clerical duties such as tracking of departmental expenditures and work with Finance team to report and manage legal fees
Screening, processing and handling departmental mail and incoming departmental requests for assistance
Scheduling meetings, relieving superiors of administrative duties
Serve as liaison between superiors and all departments of PAR and outside counsel
All duties to be performed maintaining the utmost of confidentiality
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Paralegal or Legal Assistant Degree or Certificate from ABA approved program and a minimum of five years related experience required
Experience in corporate legal department a plus
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills are essential
Attention to detail is a must
Extensive knowledge and demonstration of professional office decorum and procedures, and extensive computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook applications are also required
Communication & Professionalism – Must be able to interface well with all levels of PAR executives and personnel as well as customers, suppliers and outside counsel in a tactful and discreet manner. Must possess and exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, including extensive email communication.
Judgment & Analytical Responsibilities – Must be able to synthesize complex and/or diverse information. Strong decision making skills required in order to meet completion dates of assigned tasks. Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
